Due to the honor roll breakfast on Monday, I was at school with nothing to do second period because it was too late to go to boces. So, I attended the second period day 2 gym (sorry, Phys Ed) class for lack of a better idea. What I found was a phys ed class that actually participated, competed, and had fun. This made me look critically at my class which tends to have the "I can't" attitude or worse the "I won't" one. I think that if they just tried it, they may enjoy phys ed. Maybe I'm just a looney, but I think it's kinda like the green vegetables. Try it, you'll like it.

Another great trip for the Math and Science Clubs, this time to Philadelphia, PA. I know as a parent that when your student goes off on a "field trip" you worry
about the educational purpose of the trip and if you're a student, you likely worry about whether or not you're going to have some fun. Well, Mrs. Bartlett and Mrs. McLean work hard to structure expeditions that fit well into both categories.
In a very short period of time the students visited the Philadelphia Mint, the Philadelphia Zoo, the Franklin Institute and Museum of Science, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Independence Welcome Center, ran up the Museum of Art's long staircase, (just like Rocky Balboa) posed for a picture with Rocky's statue at the base of the stairs, (right after a wedding party did...) had a great pizza party, went swimming for a very long time, ate at a Pizza Parlor across the street from the Museum, (Little John's) and didn't rush at anything.
Congratulations to Mrs. Bartlett and Mrs. McLean and congratulations to the members of the clubs because they impressed every Philadelphian they met with their courtesy and behavior.
The quote above is Franklin, writing as Poor Richard.

Hey everyone, remember Monday Manners? So do I! Here is this week's edition,
rules for time travelers, from discovermagazine.com. This is an interesting article about time travel. It's not manners as much as rules for how time travel can occur. Unfortunately, it shatters many ideas of time travel found in movies and TV. However, it does give an interesting view of how time travel is possible, as well as an entertaining clip from The Big Bang Theory.

Congratulations to Brad Marshall who made an Eagle shot earlier this week at Barker Broo
k Golf Course in a match against DeRuyter. Brad's Eagle came on hole #13, a par four. When asked if he saw the shot Brad replied, "No, the DeRuyter players witnessed it. They told me it went in, but I didn't believe them."
