Hello everyone, my name is Kyle and this is my blog. This post is just a quick welcome and introduction. I'm a 2004 graduate of Stockbridge Valley, and I graduated from SUNY Geneseo in December 2008. I'm going to be blogging about several different things, so I'm not going to try to place a certain label on what this blog is about. All I can say is that it will be entertaining and informative, and I hope you come back soon.

Cougar Chorus, Crunch and Cowbell Fever
March 11, 2009: Well, who would have thought it. Someone guess what these things have in common. C'mon, you can do it. And, what is that Crunch thing anyway?
Well, did you know that the Stockbridge Valley Chorus had been invited to perform
the Star Spangled Banner at the opening of the Syracuse Crunch v. Toronto Marlies game on March 11, 2009?
What a night, the Chorus was spectacular, harmonizing beautifully as they navigated the heights of the Anthem and striking just the right notes at the peak of "...land of the free...", singing so capably as to provoke cheers and applause well before the song was finished. The kids were great, they were well prepared and well received. Congratulations to them and to Mrs. Belanger for their hard work and success; they brought honor to SVCS with their performance, and with their behavior.
After the Anthem, the choir and the SVCS family fans that
traveled with them all had a chance to sit and watch a great game, the Crunch beating the Marlies, 3-1. Who knew that a hundred people would bring cowbells to a hockey game? Or that they would be, via video, exhorted to action by none other than cowbell fever sufferer Christopher Walken.
This was a lot of fun, the Crunch do a great job of building a high energy atmosphere with loud, driving music, fans beyond description (Big Sexy?) and of course cowbells galore. If you didn't do it this year, do it next. The kids of the Chorus deserve to have local support and it's a great time.

March 2, 2009: At the meeting of the Foundation March 2, 2009, the Board of Directors approved applications for funding from both the Drama Club and the Softball Boosters.
The funding for the Drama Club will go to provide a new background for the stage for use in the upcoming presentation, "Li'l Abner" as well as provide Tee Shirts advertising the play to be worn by student members of the club as well as some teachers.
The funding for the Softball Boosters will be used to offset some of their expenses on the upcoming trip of Varsity players to Myrtle Beach to participate in a tournament. The players andparents have done a tremendous job of fundraising and have worked very hard to get to the Beach.
