OK, first of all, it's not from the IRS. It's a big virus and either opening the attachment or clicking the link will download a virus called Zeus into your system which won't improve your relationship with the IRS or with your local bank because it will help the hackers to access your account information and, as they say, drain your account quickly.
Here's a link to a discussion of the problem: IRS email
The other day I was reading an article about the New York Mets, as I frequently do. This article was on the website for the New York Daily News, and author Adam Rubin does a good job describing how the Mets have become a franchise with little to no chance of success in the near future. Rubin describes questionable roster moves and poor injury diagnosis that have led to the Mets struggles this season. And he is 100 percent correct in my opinion.
However, Rubin didn't even write the best part of the article. That would be the sponsored link on the bottom of the page, encouraging fans to purchase 2009 Mets tickets. After reading the article, I doubt the link is getting many hits.
1) We Buy American: The push to buy American is very strong in this country. We have our own sports: football, basketball, baseball (yes England, we still claim baseball), and NASCAR. When it comes to sports, we stick with the ones we made up.
2) Too many ties: We Americans have a strong dislike of ties, which happen frequently, sometimes without an overtime period (gasp!). The phrase "A tie is like kissing your sister" is enough evidence to prove our hatred of ties.
3) It's illogical. Round ball in a rectangular goal? Come on soccer, that just makes no sense.
