Endowment Fund
In 2004 a few of the many friends of our school had an idea-"Let's see if we can find a way to raise money for school projects that are outside of the normal budget 
of our School Board and too expensive for the students to pay for alone."
As a result of this interest, these friends formed the Stockbridge Valley Educational Foundation, Inc.
Examples of ways the Foundation has raised money have been an annual golf tournament, Ferris lawnmower raffle, school calendar and a talent show.
Examples of projects that have been funded were character education programs, several field trips, a visiting author and purchase of percussion instruments for the marching band.
So far, the Foundation has raised about $60,000 and this money has paid for more than 30 projects.
Our Teachers support this program and already many students have enhanced their student life here from these projects.
Now the Board of Directors of the Foundation has another idea. "Could we raise additional money by creating a separate permanent endowment where only the earnings from this fund is used for these student projects?"
Now, special friends who have good memories of our school could give to this fund knowing that her/his gift would last many years. And the person making the gift could specify how hi/her gift should be used-for example, only for the purchase of exceptional school library materials.
These gifts can be right now, or over time, or by Will.
