Eggstra, Eggstra, Eggstra! The Stockbridge Valley Ruritans and the Stockbridge Valley Select Choir are attempting to claim the title for the most plastic eggs dropped and raced down a creek. This event will be held at the Annual Ruritan Community Fair on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Carlon Field in Munnsville, New York. Purchase an egg for a chance to win $500! Eggs are $5 each or 5 eggs for $20. Plenty of other prizes including gift certificates and donated items will be given away.
Eggs are available at the reception desk of all Utica School of Commerce Campuses, Time for Me Day Spa in Kirkland, Between Us Sisters in Munnsville, St. Patrick’s Thrift Shoppe in Oneida, The Barnyard Swing in Cooperstown, What’s the Scoop in Sylvan Beach, JB’s Small Engine Works in Schuyler as well as special events all around the area. Look for us at Bike Night, Old Car Night and of course at the Stockbridge Valley Community Fair. Adopt a racing egg and be a part of this fabulous world record attempt.
The purpose of this event is to help the Stockbridge Valley Select Choir fund a trip to Walt Disney World where they have been invited to sing. Come, have a good time and help the kids out!

The Elementary Student Council is sponsoring a week long event to raise money and gather food items for our local food pantry. We are having a coin drive as well as daily themes to gather food items for the Munnsville Food Bank.
The coin drive will run from Monday, June 14 - Friday, June 18 and the total will be collected on Friday.
Each day will have a different theme and the cost to participate will be $1.00 or one non-perishable food item. If a student brings in $1.00 that money can be added to your total for the coin drive.
All canned goods and coins will be counted on Friday.
There will be a reward for the ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM that has the highest monetary total raised as well as the ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM that has the highest food item total.
Here is a list of themes for the week:
MONDAY: Crazy Hat Day
TUESDAY: Mismatch Day
WEDNESDAY: Twin Day (find a friend and dress alike)
THURSDAY: Pajama Day
FRIDAY: A Day at the Beach (no swimsuits) Sunglasses, flip flops, visors, shorts & t-shirts.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THIS LOCAL CAUSE!

The Stockbridge Valley Girls Softball Team will travel to Cicero North Syracuse on Saturday, June 6 to defend the Class D Championship title. They will play at the Gillette Road Complex at 4:30 pm against former nemesis
Oriskany. The Lady Cougars have competed against the Redskins for the past two years, earning the Class D title last year. Stockbridge Valley defeated Madison on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory to keep their season alive. Oriskany held off a strong come back by Poland to return to the finals. The winner will move on to the NYS playoffs.
Stockbridge will rely heavily on the strong pitching of all-star junior, Cheyenne Bumpus and heavy hitters Andrea Rogers and Breanna Marshall, the teams only senior. Coach Chris Peto has been working several months to prepare the team. Through out the past year they held numerous fundraisers to earn money to travel to Myrtle Beach to compete in a tournament against much larger schools.
Saturday's forecast promises perfect softball weather. Take a break from the yard work, grab your maroon garb (Oriskany is maroon also, so you may want to paint that paw print on your cheek as well) and head out to CNS to cheer on the Stockbridge Valley Girls Softball Team!
